The Hierarchy of Angels, Explained.

The Angels According to The Bible, Enoch, & other extra-Biblical texts.

Most people think they know what angels are - serene, winged beings delivering messages from God. But the truth is far stranger. My latest video explores the Biblical and historical understanding of angels, revealing them not as gentle messengers but as powerful, often terrifying entities deeply woven into the fabric of divine order.

What I Cover:

  • The Misconception of “Angels”
The word angel is actually a misnomer. In the original texts, these beings are often called Elohim, a term that applies to all divine beings—including God Himself. The Bible describes a vast hierarchy of celestial entities, each with distinct roles and characteristics.

  • The Divine Council
One of the most overlooked aspects of Biblical theology is that God doesn’t rule alone. Psalms 82:1 hints at a divine assembly where God presides among other Elohim, rendering judgment. This council structure redefines how we understand the role of angels—not as mere assistants but as active participants in divine governance.

  • The Sons of God and the Nephilim
One of the strangest verses in the Bible, Genesis 6, describes how the Sons of God took human women as wives, producing offspring known as the Nephilim. These giants, fierce warriors of legend, tie into nearly every ancient civilization’s myths. I explore the connection between these beings and the fallen “Watchers” - angels who taught humanity forbidden knowledge, from astrology to weapon-making.

  • The Celestial Hierarchy
Heaven is structured like a monarchy, with different tiers of divine beings:

    • Seraphim – Fiery, six-winged beings that exist in a state of pure worship near God’s throne.

    • Cherubim – Guardians of the sacred, described as having four faces (human, ox, lion, eagle) and wielding flaming swords.

    • Ophanim (Wheel Angels) – The strangest of all, described as giant wheels covered in eyes, moving in all directions without turning.

    • Archangels and Messenger Angels – The more familiar figures like Gabriel and Michael, directly intervening in human affairs.

  • Satan, Demons, and the War in Heaven
The story of Lucifer’s fall is widely misunderstood. I break down how Lucifer is actually a mistranslation and how fallen angels became the demonic entities that continue to influence our world. I also explore the Book of Enoch’s claim that the spirits of the Nephilim, hybrid offspring of angels and humans, became the demons that haunt the earth.

Why This Matters

This isn’t just theological trivia - understanding angels reshapes how we see the entire Biblical narrative. Angels aren’t background characters; they are central to the cosmic battle between good and evil, God’s plan for the world, and our own spiritual lives.

If you’ve ever wondered why ancient myths from across the world share strikingly similar stories of giants, sky beings, and divine councils, this video is for you.
